Last movie dump for a while. I promise.
As for Get On Up...Well, it's WAY better than that Jersey Boys movie (It's about the 4 Seasons) which seemed WAY too obsessed with the mob ties than talking about their musical innovations (I consider that movie a C- BTW). This one actually has a nice balance in between telling about James Brown's story and his music and how those relationships affected those around him. As for James Brown himself...Well...I consider him an egotistical jerk-face. I feel kinda bad for his backup musicians that had to put up with things like not geting paid for weeks or being screwed over by the record company. It's a shame since he's so charismatic. He could've had more friends if he didn't get in his own way. I kinda regret seeing the movie at night since it was hard staying awake for the last 30 minutes or so.
Let's Be Cops was a hilarious movie. I found myself laughing several times and was happy to hear some old school music thrown in! XD It also makes an interesting statement about people's desire to put up a front and not be considered a "loser" by others. It's also nice that it makes references to cops in the movies too. So it is leaning on the 4th wall a bit. I just noticed Rotten Tomatoes gave it 11% and Audience gave it 66%. Uhm, I guess my tastes ae outside the main stream? Oh well. I liked it and that's all that matters. It's a silly little movie that I didn't take too seriously.
*************************************************** I've just decided to stop putting things off and do an artist of the month. I'm also weaning through the DA messages and working my way into the messages. Then I'll deal with club and regular notes. So sorry for not dealing with those yet, but I usually like to deal with those after I deal with Deviations, Journals, and favorites. So please bear with me on my horrid tardiness. Oh!And I have a poll up about manga. Answering it is going to help me decide what manga I'm going to talk about here next (non-watchers can also answer this poll of course). -> rhythm-wily.deviantart.com/jou…
Anways! This month's artist of the month is going to Raayzel ! She's from Australia and does some cute, colorful, and beautiful artwork! Big emphasis on the colorful part as it's kinda hard for me to stop looking at them given the use of the combination of use of lighting and vivid colors. I totally say this gallery is worth a look at least.
