Primary Kimono Girl

To unwind from the last two more challenging and stressful submissions I decided to draw something more fun! I have drawn non-referanced kimono's many times but they were always more rough doodles or sketches; I don't think I've ever bothred inking and coloring them before. Even the initial sketch was just me trying to think of something to draw!*laughs*Then I decided the initial sketch looked ok so I decided to just ink and sketch it!

I decided to have fun with this and make the kimono mainly consist of the primary colors (red,blue,and yellow) then added seconondary colors to the trim (green and orange) her hair is also a secondary color...Infact; outside of her skintone the ENTIRE picture was a conscious effort to ONLY use primary and secondary colors.

The circles I made orange and then decided doing some texture lines in them would make them more interesting. So I used a purple micron pen (secondary color.XD) and thatched through them. They make me think of antique beads now! As for the sillouette around the "Beads" coming along that way actually an accident. I was outlining the "beads" w/ the fat tip of my prisma marker when I noticed I really liked the outline it was making so I decided to make that the edge border for the picture!

Again, this turned out WAY better than I thought considering it was something I didn't put much foreplanning into doing and used no referances for whatsoever. So I'm pretty pleased with it.
